Bamboo

Bamboo is at the heart of what we promote. Approximately half of our products are made of this unique material. Bamboo is a type of grass and therefore grows far faster than slow growing trees that are used for wood. It is the fastest growing plant in the world. This growth rate allows it to be harvested within 3-5 years, unlike most softwoods which need 10-20 years to grow before harvesting. Bamboo's slender dimensions along with its fast growth rate mean the plant can quickly be replenished without causing any devastating deforestation effects seen with typical forest logging.


bamboo is light weight, flexible, tough, and highly tensile. It is even used in construction, particularly earthquake prone hotspots.
